Hey guys- I am trying to decide which method to go to this season. Just picked up a rino 530 gps/radio and also have my avalanche beacon.

Method 1- get handlebar bag for rino, odds-n-ends, etc. Just wear the beacon on harness like normal.

Method 2- get the conterra chest harness that keeps both the radio and the beacon on my person in a comfortable manner.

Have you looked at the Snobunje bag? We use them.:face-icon-small-hap
Has a water bottle holder on 1 side and a radio holder on the other.

I know Sled Solutions has a bag I wanted last year. Was on back order though.:(

I have looked at Snobunje, True Adventure, SOS, R and M lightning products, will look at the sled solutions.

Issue is I have the adrenaline sled with the U-shaped bars and not the T-post riser, so some of the bags won't work for that style of bars. R&M lightning being one of them after talking with them on the phone cause I liked their bag.

I use th ram mount That you can pick up at the show in a couple weeks. I mounted it on my hood right between the tach and speedo.

I had a handlebar mount with my last GPS, but lets just say I like to "roll" my sled to get out stucks on the hill. That isn't a particularly good option for me. That is why I don't use my windshield either.

Boss- I do carry heat. Funny you say that cause that thought had crossed my mind.......

I would rather have both on my person, if something happens and you get seperated from your sled but not burried, what ya gonna do if your radio is on your sled?

That's a very good point Scott.;)
I was in an Avy 3 yrs ago and got hammered my my sled and watched it roll down the hill after it rolled with and on me. I was hurt and partially buried and the guys at the bottom were taking high risks to get to me. Had my radio been on me and not my sled I would have told them to stay put and give me time to dig out and not risk their safety.

Very good points. I would agree. Option 2 gets my vote.

i always loved a bar bag when i rode skidoo products....love the ease of access to stuff, like tissues for my boy freak after we race again:cool:

The "Ram" mount is great for the gps. use it all the time...
peace-
johnny

.

Agree...X10000. RAM mount is the way to go. It is always right there in front of you to see where you are at. Unless you are really hard on stuff the lanyard is your safety feature and you won't lose it unless you take a helluva tumble down a large mountain.

I have the 530 (?maybe the 520) and have it on a RAM mount and would have it no other way. The battery on mine will last all weekend without a recharge.

Just ask Ron how useful it is.

same thing here lost my sled in an Avy and was not able to tell people where I was in the trees, radio was on the sled....now I will carry both...

I ended up finding a different style chest harness I liked better and the price is right. Shipped local from SLC from Campman.com. Will hold radio, Beacon, and a zippered pouch for heat if I so desire (BossRev);)

I don't currently wear a tek-vest and not sure. It should be here on Monday and my bro has a tek vest I can try it over. I will put it together and take some pics and post my results.
