Opinions on Cats 4 post clutch

I have one on my 2007 M1000 still with 1400 miles. I know cat went to a 3 post in 2008 and was updating the 07's with 3 post. I have had no issues to date with the 4 post and like my Sledjunky clutching set-up that I run, but before I have an issue I'm thinking about doing some preventable mainatence. What are peoples thoughts on replacing the current spider with a billet one or should I go to a 3 tower?? And who makes a billet spider for this 4 post clutch?

With a billet spider they are a great clutch. Well balanced and great for turbo applications.

Personally I think it is much better than 3 tower, we have a number of these on turbo applications and some with over 3000 miles with no issues. If I ever have a spider issue I would consider a billet one as Cat won't sell you one but other than that I wouldn't run anything else on a turbo 1000.

Great Hilly, I see where this is going. Now you are going to be running a turbo. At least you can't hide that mod!!!

Supreme tools makes the billet spiders and while your at it you should add the billet cover they have to make it a bullet proof top notch clutch. Their spider should never crack and their cover not only strengthens the clutch but allows you to run the doo springs that have a wide option of spring rates.

I am assuming RS has these billets. I have been looking for the billet. I have four tower with broken spider. It would be great to have the four tower clutch weighted for home. I could then have three tower for the trips out west. I hope someone can give me a ball park price for the billet and cover you are talking about. Is this on RS website.
