Opinions on Assault track

Y
i need to replace the track on my 2011rmk since it has 0 lugs on the left side and the right side is missing a pile also. i have a turbo on it also so it is still capable of getting into areas that i dont like coming down. i see alot of tracks from the assault sleds for cheap and was wondering do they suck that bad or what is the problem with them. mine still works ok till i try sidehilling than the back just washes out on me. would i regret going with the assault track. i basically ride the big horns and togwetee and do stay in the trees quit abit. it is a 155"

Comp track

I only have 600 miles on my sled. Ill give you my .02 i think its great it might trench some but not enough for me to notice im 250 pounds in all my gear it keeps me up on top and my sled is pretty much stock . Plus its awesome how cheap they are i have a spare just because how can you go wrong at 300 bucks for new take offs?

Have you ever had most the lugs fall off before? THink it has to do with the turbo spinning the track faster.

I don't think the Assault track likes high speeds on hard surfaces, but so far mine has been ok. I don't run super high speeds though. 50 to 60 is about the highest I maintain for any amount of time.

i love the traction i get with my comp track, our snow out west sets up so fast especially in this time of year, having traction on the hard stuff is fun.
i have not had it out in powder yet because of the year to see it dig in but i have seen potential on loose snow.
im not ready to give it up yet, i think its great.

lugs

my track was missing alot of lugs before the turbo was installed so i dont blame it on the turbo. are the comp track lugs only 2.12 and the powder track 2.4 or are the different depths for the comp track

I run the assault track on my td8 155. Love it! Yes in the deep deep it trenches more but .you have a turbo, so you will power through most of that. Most importantly, if you are like me you start riding in October and stop in may or June. I feel like 90% of the time I ride the snow is set up or less than a foot of fresh. That's why I love it. Yes I would prefer my 5.1 or a challenger extreme on those epic bottomless days(maybe only 14 days out of a 120 day season.) but for the big picture the assault track works best for me.

I used to shed a paddle or two every ride with my stock 5.1 track. Rocks are traction sometimes. I would be real surprised if you shed paddles on the assault track. That thing is pretty burly. The comp track only comes in the one lug height.

I had to replace the track when i bought my pro so I had a older 5.1 and I trimmed it down to 2 inch. I've put on over 1700 mi this year alot of hard pack miles at high speeds. This track has held up great. Only lost one lug and that was from a culvert.

I have seen a comp track that lost all the lugs on the outside so they both can self destruct. Was thinking about getting a comp track myself, but I would cut down the outer lugs a quarter inch or so to keep some weight off them. Also only running the bogie wheels on the inside of the rails would probably help. I think the comp track would hold up pretty good with the outside lugs at 1.75 and the inside at 2.125

I put about 1300 miles on my Comp track this year on a mixture of snow surfaces...lakes, rivers, deep snow, trails etc. without any damage to it. I have screws down the middle two rows.

My Assault track works great, had no real probs in deep pow you just need to be a little careful where you point it. In the set up stuff its a hook up beast!!

I have a 2010 assault 146 with the comp track and want to replace it. My favorite riding is deep powder and I already have a short track. The last thing i need is a heavier track that trenches in the fluff. I do like it on spring days when the snow is set up however.
