Opinion? Plug Reading - How do these look?

Plugs are atleast 3 days old. After long run up a hill I hit the kill switch and coasted down and found this. The sled is running mostly stock with mid alt 07 progam, semi oil from Doo, and only -10 on the Boondockers. I hear most RT are running -20,,, but my EGTs are about 1225 to 1245 so I don't want to lean down more. Both plugs look like this, which in the carb days, looks pretty good, being light tan or gray. Any thoughts, are these still a little rich, kinda a light gray across the plug? Note, There is a little soot on the electrode?
Thanks for your thoughts and Merry Xmas,,,
Brad

Well thats about what mine looks like, But I'm at - 22 to -25 on the top end, but I'm runnin twins and heads, I think i should be +10 or so.

They look ok but they might be a little lean but it is hard to tell by the picks if they are golden brown or greyish white?

I would say alittle on the lean side. I would diffinitely look at the piston tops and check the wash.

Ya, I think I'm going to use this as the "this is as lean as I'll go",,,and look to keep the EGTs below 1250,,, trying to shoot for 1225 as the typical WOT reading.

It close and good on fuel, and pricey to rebuild, so that light grey coloring is as lean as I'll go,,,

Looks lean to me. Could be my eyes or the pictures, but from what I can tell, your insulator looks too white, electrode too clean, and the ground plating burnt too low. I would richen it up a bit.

I agree you are on the edge. I would go one step richer to be safe!

Look pretty darn good to me--the black line on the electrode is right at the bend which is where you want it. I would not go any leaner on WOT for sure, and if you do get into cold , watch the plugs.

You have no white that I see--looks right for the oil you are running and for standard fuel deposits.

Go get em!!

I am installing the Attitude box in the next day or 2 and will let you know haow it works out as well.

H20SKE...

Plugs look good Just keep a watch when your low and cold feather the throttle on cold day throw cool fuel at the cylinders.

after pulling the plugs the other day from stock xps, i would say you are ok... the xps looked even tanner than that with a slight look of white, and that is what brp sees as ok

am i way off???

ive got an 05 rt with the crankshop twins and im running in the +18 range wot. im hittin between 1200 to 1250 egt's on a good pull. and my plugs look good but safe. whats with the big difference in settings? am i way off?

How long does it take to usually get a good plug reading?

Plugs change very fast, seconds. That's why it's a good idea to do a long pull and kill the engine before releasing the throttle, just letting off the throttle may give a false reading.
They look safe from what I can see in the pics....safe is good!
