One Way to keep your wife Happy!

For all you guys TRYING.....don't give up. :) Have patience, and bite your tongue if need be (Think BEFORE you speak). It is tough learning to ride in the mountains, but keep up the praise and positive attitude, be there to help or provide support, and you can have a lifetime riding partner. Having someone yell at you for getting stuck (no matter how many times), or for a line you chose, or a negative attitude...well that can make a woman miserable, and make her never want to ride.

I dumped my sled, fell in my spinning track, busted up my leg (2 subsequent surgeries), but I still ride, and LOVE it! H*ll, I rode my sled out the 30 miles from the spot where I had the accident (wouldn't recommend). A lot of the time I'm the one that is first to say "Let's go riding".

It's awesome to read how so many of you do think of your wife, and get her good gear and a good machine!!! :face-icon-small-coo

Sounds similar to my wife, some azzhole (Brad Fischer from No Dak if anyone knows him, wouldn't recommend riding with the tard....still haven't seen him since the accident, still want to knock the guys head off) ran her over on the trail out of Jeffereson 3 years ago and broke both bones in her right leg above the ankle, one reconstructive surgery later she's OK. She road the rest of the way out too, actually tried walking on it a couple times. Took her awhile to get her confidence back but she is doing great this year, about back to where she was before the accident... didn't ride last year because of the little guy on the way so it's been a long road for her. I haven't seen her have as much fun as she did last weekend in a long time....

I love riding with my wife. She used to ride with her dad when she was in high school, but I got here riding again in 06. She had a 2000 600 Summit, but she was always stealing mine.(04 900 1M 159") So this year she is on a 08 XP Everst 154" and loves it! I think the best advice I could offer is give her some pointers, but don't make her ride exactly like you. Let her figure out how she wants to ride and what she is comfortable with. Let her ask most of the questions too. If she gets stuck, get her unstuck tell here try this/that and have her go do it again. Confidence is the number one thing. If she is not confident she wont want to try new things. Most of all enjoy riding with your spouse and remember it sure beats spending time together at the checkout line in Wal-mart!!!

My husband has kept me happy by buying me a new sled (NYTRO MTX):D:heart:, this year. But then again, I've been riding with him since 93 and ANY time I can go ride, I'm a happy sledder.

It's great to see the "P" words from all you guys; pleasure, pride, and the two most important, praise & patience.

A wife always like to hear how well she rode with the guys, it's a great score with the hubby too. :face-icon-small-win :lips: :lips:

I guess I must be a lucky dude, wife rides 07 800 159, and beats most of my buddies to the summit. also helps dig out anyone. A happy day is a day of boondocking in her eyes.
Although I have to look at the bruises from time to time.

Must be why the wifey rides a 06 Rev X, while I still ride my 02 ....???Dino

Hey my wife had a new 05 then and 06 M7 while I had my 03 1M 900. I was thrilled cause she was HAPPY. Then... and only then.... I got an M1000. win win!

Put electric start on hers last year (man that's expensive) and now no more wasted arm energy for her and she is mega happy.

My friends and club folks can't believe her ridding we go everywhere.

I was riding with a couple today and at the end of the day I complimented the lady on how far she has come since I first rode with them 4yrs. ago. Her immediate response was, "I owe it to my husband, he is very patient and never gets mad or yells at me". Just thought this was really cool and should pass it on!
