one lucky SOB (avy video)

Wow thing that surprised me the most about this vid is the people filming. Ya they might have been a distance away but even after the avy happened and none of them were sure they seen the rider make it out safely.
Not one of them showed or said anything about going to possibly help out:eek:

And why did the rider continue down hill into the slide. He was clearly above the fracture line for a while there. He shoulda turned back up or baled while he was above the fracture. I guess it must be some kind of wrong instinct that has folks trying to out run slides that size on terrain that steep.

Not me..........my back problem (big yellow stripe right up the middle) would have had me going for an edge or right back up into it. Lucky guy and spectators. Hope lessons were learned. EW

from here in my lazy boy shielded by my keyboard I know exactly what I would have done in that situtation! ;)

That is Sasksummit's video.. he posted it on here already... they were over a 10 minute ride away from the slide... they did see the guy get out of it... you just didn't see it on the camera. Besides, there were at least 8 of his buddies right there to help... don't judge until you have the whole story...

Thanks Alberta Boy. You have been on here enough to know how it all unfolded. You most likley know where I was standing.

No problem bud! I have been exactly where you were standing many times! Nice view from there! Great clip you caught there and you have NO reason to defend anything you did or didn't do!
:beer;:beer;

That would stop about half the posts on this forum!:rolleyes:

Maybe it's human nature to jump to conclusions while sitting safely at your keyboard.

First of all I was not judging anybody. During that whole video not once did I here anybody say or mention anything about going to help while it happened. All I could here over and over is what an idiot. Don`t think that any of you would not have hit that hill either. There were lots of tracks on it. If I was the guy filming and it were my friends there all you would of heard was guys loading up to go help. I did not read the other thread and all I had to go on was this vid. Also so ****ing what if there 8 of his buddies there already. What if he did get buried even if you were ten minutes away don`t think a few extra guys searching would make a difference. Go **** yourselves all of you. Got a problem with what I have to say just track me down on the hill, I`ll gladly defend anything I have to say face to face.

i dunno how many videos ive watched like this and if they would have just stayed at the top of the mountain they wouldn't have to drive through the slide. You dont know if that's going to slide too but you dont know the outcome of driving down the avalanche either.

****ty situations this year, so many lives lost.

Glad he made it out ok, but IMO with the snowpack this year(am sure everyone is aware of it) That hill should have never been climbed. Also as for the guys filming and didn't go to help if you watch the guy did ride out the bottom. Just my .02.

his sled actually cartwheels out at the bottom of the slide.....I do not think he was still on that sled!?! At least I hope not :eek:
