Older featherlites

I was looking at buying an older 2002
Model featherlite combo trailer, 24'+4'v. Insulated, heater, etc, are there any known issues with these trailers to watch out for? Cracked frames, wiring, etc. or are they fairly solid? I read mostly good reviews about them, any input? Thanks

Featherlite is one of THE best trailers out there. That said, like buying anything used, you have to look it over. Axles, bearings, wiring, frame. If it was used hard and put away wet it will show in the condition.

One of the easiest ways I found to gauge how hard a trailer has been ran is look at the doors, and hinges. How clean is the ramp hinge? A bunch of wear from gravel and/or ice from the door being shut without being swept out. It's the little details like that show how well someone took care of it.

I bought mine new in 02,24'+6' V (rocky mtn edition)very nice trailer, horrible door hinges, put on over head springs and cables.Trailer has held up very well and still looks great

I have a 2001 car hauler that I bought used in like 04 and used it weekly for 8 years hauling a race car all summer long. It also doubled as a sled trailer in the winter and got 15-20,000 miles a year on it. All I've every done is wash it, pack the wheel bearings every few years, replace tires as needed and replace some burnt out light bulbs. Thats it, never had any problems with it. Mine has the aluminum frame and aluminum floor in it. Eric
