Will get the front shocks tomorrow after work, then i can finish up the front end and get it back on its own feet again! Also, threw some 92 octane in her tonight and fired her up, she sounded pretty nice, love that tripple sound and love the smell of two stroke... lol

Thanks all of you who have commented on my build and have even just peeked thru it. hope the snow comes quick!

Beautiful old school! That wedge is just wonderful.

Now just be on the lookout for a HTG 900 kit!!:face-icon-small-win and you'll be pleased a long time.

well, got the skis on it, and took it outside for a little grass run, and wow I am impressed! clutching and gearing seem to be right from what I can tell at low speeds. basically, the sled is 95 percent done, all I need now to do is mount and wire in the LED tail light, handlebar hooks, hand guards, mountain addiction 2-1.3 gallon external gas tanks and rack, a few little wiring issues and it should be ready to go for the winter! ill post some more pics... what do ya guys think?

Thanks ford... I love the wedge chassis and i like building sleds and seeing what I can do with little resources. Like take for instance my tunnel ext. I actually saw yours on your xlt and used that as a basis for my design, so thank you... haha

That's funny, I did not know if people would like it. I really like how it works and looks, especially for the price ($40). I gotta do another one for the "Pol-Cat" I am going to start on here pretty soon. Gotta get all the chores done before I can play.....

diet

a little sled diet in the future and ull be set. love my little doo 800 tripple chop job.

Hey, nice build, congrats!!!

I had a 1993 STORM that I purchased brand new, ran it for 3 seasons, got it dialed in real well.

If you're gonna run the stock pipes, here's what I ran:

260-260-290 (MAG SIDE) MAINS

NEEDLES from a '92 650 to clean up that 4000-4500 r.p.m. "gurgle"(can't remeber the part#)

Carb vent lines OFF the air box and vented (hanging) down

.020" shaved off the heads with a single layer head gasket

BOYSEN reeds

66 gram weights

EPI helix, (I'll try to find it if you need specifics, just p.m. me)

I remember that "arm wrenching" mid-range pull!!!

Nice build, curious what you think once it is on the snow. The 750s seemed to have been hit/miss with how they ran. Worked on one that wouldn't ever keep pistons in it, had another that was ported and few other mods that ran like the proverbial raped ape.....

THANKS ALL for all the nice replies, I hope it turns some heads! still plugging away on it and it almost done. I am changing the rear skid, gonna put a 04 EDGE RMK skid in it, will be a much better ride, more travel, and lighter... also has clicker shocks so that is a plus... led taillight is on order, and was thinking of running a HID headlight, anyone done this on a carbed older sled???

Will post some more pics of the skid change when its done, gonna work on it today on my day off...

Again, thanks for all the replies! much appreciated!

Most people I've seen with HID or similar compact projector type lights usually have a mesh hood as well. Buddy of mine made his own mesh hood by using a trashed stock hood and kept just the bottom 2 inches or so all around the perimeter, bent some aluminum stock and covered it in mesh material, turned out pretty sweet for minimal investment.
