I'm not sure on the year but if this bumper in question is the two holed plastic bumper on most ZR's and MC's... then yeah, trying to yank a Cat back out of a creek, two straps hooked, one on each section of the rear bumper, 3 people pulling each strap and all of us ended up on our rears cuz the bumper handles just cracked off. Sad thing was the next brilliant plan was to wrap the straps around the track... I'm pretty sure you can guess the outcome there.

My King Bunjee's out my buddies several times every trip. Going on four years now, no trouble with the rear bumper. The Bunjee is a definite back saver.
