Yeah, I don't really get it either. I love competition, I love power and everything you guys mentioned, but there is so much more of it in other types of racing as compared to nascar.
I've tried many times to get into nascar, as I like pretty much every other type of racing, but there is no action, except for when they crash. That's it.
If you can get passed all of the European accents in F1, that really is the greatest type of racing from a technology aspect.
From an engineering view, it's rediculous. 2.4 L engines revving to 19000 RPM putting down 800 horsepower. They do 0-160-0 in 6 seconds, and under braking they can see 8 g's. 8 g's! gordon would pass out if he saw that. 3 or 4 g's in corners. as soon as they let off the throttle at 200 mph, they are deccelerating at 1 g due to drag. And, they can turn left AND right. and if you like close racing, not only are they inches apart, but they've got their wheels interlocked with each other while pulling these 4 g corners.
Also, Ferrari spends almost 200 million dollars building their car each YEAR.
Now, gordon did what? they called a yellow flag due to a hot dog wrapper? I don't know, just doesn't toot my horn.
