Oil usage

Anyone besides me use excessive amounts of oil?

I rode yesterday with a full tank of oil and came off the mountain with the low oil light warning. I burned my full tank of fuel (plus stock jerry can) but a full tank of oil should last longer than one ride.

Are others seeing this much oil usage?

Unfortunately the oil use on these 850’s seem to be more than the old 800’s. At least if your in the throttle a lot.

Dude.. with snow like that, just keep adding the oil and ride. Gotta be working that motor plenty hard, probably close to pinned whenever your moving. I'd rather be using more oil than going tango uniform on the hill

I have yet to burn a full tank in 1 trip but definitely appreciate the heads up!

I have 125 miles on my 850, %52 left for break in. In fairly deep snow on my last ride I used almost half a tank of oil in 41 miles.

No, it’s my second year on this sled. It did not burn this much oil last season and it was deep most days I rode. I am now wondering if my dealer changed something after I put the sled in for the updates?? I will be calling today.

I also had a intermittent bog on my last ride that I have never had before. Like it is running out of fuel.

on last years 850 we had two that drank oil like it was a light beer.

I just figured the Oil and Belt division of BRP needed a year in the black as far as revenue so increased belt and oil usage.

It was incredible, We have not gotten the new ones out of break in to know if they are going to be better.

Mine burnt cases...I figured it out a few times, 20-1 and my 800s were 28-1

oh and it was going thru a huge pile just before I lost the engine at 1800 kms
