mine did the same thing, i spun it with my 1/4 inch air ratchet till the nut came out of the oil tank now i had to warrenty the tank cause it leaked where the nut came out, your screwed either way might as well drill the head off if it doesnt just spin

ya,thats what im thinking too.my fix-it list is growing.oil tank fix,sticking oil pump and a intake boot becuz the oil line fell out.that oil injection delete kit is looking better everyday:)

wedge a small flat blade screw driver between the bolt head and the chassis and turn while backing out the screw. this will help put more pressure on the other side and will help it get started. doesn't all ways work but you have nothing to lose at this point.

good idea,76.i have done that before,so i went out and tried.but no go.to much locktight.it still spun then when i got the screwdriver in there toooo tight,i stripped out the star bolt:)

yep...try and convince me they sent a man to the moon when this sort of crap is going on...bolts spinning...cell phones have no signal...shuttles blowing up...yep no way a man was on the moon almost 50 years ago when you can.t remove an oil tank in 2009..!

its not a rubber grommet nut its a normal nut kinda formed into the tank itself i just took a big screwdriver and did the pry think and then the tank nut must of got warm enough where the nut came out of the tank causing a nice place to leak, what a joke im glad i deleted the oil injection anyway.

well i drilled the bolt head off and wrestled the tank out of there.but nobody told me there was 3 bolts holding that pos on.i didnt see it.LOL:):beer;

FYI for anyone trying to remove these bolts in the future: Take a direct tipped small torch like this one below or similar. Sears has a great little craftsmen setup that is for soldering or I got mine from MAC tools. Direct the flame on the bolt head for about 30-40 seconds, then slowly turn the bolt, it has a lower heat threshold locking compound on it and all of the ones I have removed this way have posed no problems. Hope this helps in the future, if not now.

but if you heat it that little bit too much and you know whats going to happen on a plastic tank that melts from residual exhaust heat.
