oil soaked air filter

Rolled sled over on it's lid and the oil soaked the filter. It was just a few seconds before we had it back up right. Has anyone else had this problem?

Interesting two sleds have oiled the filter and one hasn't. I wonder if my sled is missing some kind of flow valve. It sure ruins the day with a soaked filter.

Mine did the same thing. Oil soaked filter. I think there needs to be something put in the breather line to slow the free flow of oil. My chain case vent line puked oil out on the same roll over.

Good point I never thought about the chain case. I hope Cat has a fix for this problem. I have rode during the night and noticed my turbo glows red. Having oil fill up the air filter and going into the intake could be a fire waiting to happen.

Mine did the same thing, rolled it over 3-4 times in one day and filter was, and still is soaked with oil. No performance loss noticed though. It took about 2 tablespoons to get the engine oil back on the full mark the next morning. Im not at all worried about it im going to run it as-is until i get time to work out a cold air intake of my own.

oil leakage

My first ride I rolled my turbo and yes I had oil on my console and the filter was soaked. My dealer had asked me to tell them about my sled after my ride because mine was the first 1100t to go out their doors. I could talk smack about that dealer forever about trying to get my sled...anyways.... I informed them that My filter was soaked because of a rollover and he informed me that they are not designed to be rolled over. He will not warranty any parts that are ruined by oil caused by rollovers. This is Bull Sh*# as far as I'm concerned. If you have actually ridden a sled, rolling it over happens and is actually extremely easier to get it unstuck. Now I guess I need to find another dealer to work on my sled! Oh I live in Alaska.....(south central) I won't name names but there is only 4 to choose from.
No one has a filter in stock either.... ridiculous

PS.... I suggest installing a Tether

My sled died when it rolled over. I used starting fluid to clean the oil out of my filter and let it dry. Had my dealer bring me in another filter until I can find a fix. IMO mountain sleds should be made to roll over it happens to the best of us. Dealer also put call into Cat for problem, hopefully they come up with solution.
