oil resevoir need venting?

I think most people say it should be vented because pressure can/ will build up in there, I'm not sure about that vent tho
 
that vent would work, but usually you want something with some kind of rollover check valve. Will the vent you listed, if the sled sat upside down for an extended period your oil would start leaking out.
 
On the XP stock oil tank there is a vent line with a check valve inline. Plumb in a fitting to the tank, some line and that check valve, it works pretty well. Make sure you run the check valve the proper direction.

And yes you will need to vent it
 
you will only need to vent if you are running too much oil pressure. 20 is good and then a vent isn't needed.
 
Maybe I am missing something, but if it exits through the belly pan, how do you keep snow/ice from plugging it?
