Oil pump

I need to replace my throttle cable and was wondering if there is any trick to adjust the oil pump cable so that it stays them same. I have not changed it out yet but plan on doing it in a few days. I sure would hate to get that part wrong. Thanks for any help you can provide.

There is an index mark on the lever and on the pump body. Match the two up at full throttle and premix the first tank at 100/1 ,for safety, and check your oil useage. You should use about 1 quart to 10 gallons of fuel. The useage will vary a little by how much you pump the throttle and how aggressive you ride.
