Oil pump delete ???

I bought the BDX oil delete kit for my 2001 Mountaincat 800 and installed it on the motor. but what hoses do you plug off on the fuel pump? or can you do away with the fuel pump and run the gas line straight to the carbs?

HUH? The oil pump and fuel pump are two seperate things. The sled will not run without a fuel pump.

That's true, but on the carbed 8/900s, the oil pump pumps the oil into the fuel pump, mixing the fuel before it gets to the carbs. (On the EFIs, it's different.)

i put on the bdx oil delete kit and blocked off the 2 lines that ran from the fuel pump to the oil pump. i just wanted to see if any one else did the same or had a different set up.

We did do something similar on one sled, but we drilled the cases so that the waterpump shaft still gets lubed.

We also have put the EFI oil pump on a couple sleds, so that the oil is injected separate from the fuel. (Oil doesn't go through the carbs)

Also unless your oil pump delete plate has a grease fitting to lube the oil and water pump drive shaft you will need to drill the case to get it oiled.

there is one line that runs from the fuel pump to the engine block. does this line stay connected or does this line get pluged off? does it supply air pressure to run the fuel pump or is the pump gravity feed? i pluged off the line that ran from the oil pump to the fuel pump. but trying to figure out this other line.

where would you drill the case at for oil? I just installed a motor that has the oil pump removed. Should I install the oil pump from my 800 on my now big bore 800/900 and run a light mixture of oil in the gas?

I will see if Idcatman3 and I can get some pictures of where to drill the hole and get them posted. It may take a few days.

You could put an oil pump back on and just run a little mix in the tank for you r big bore. On one of my 975s I run a little extra oil in the gas because the pump doesn't put out enough to keep me from worrying.
