oil pump arm?

I have got a 2012 switchback 800 assault, recently one of the balls of the arm connecting to the throttle bodies to the pump has melted. my issue now is the oil pump arms has spun around a few times as the spring didn't catch the retainer in the arm when I tried to spin it to hook up, Is this going to be a issue or not, I am not to sure how the oil pump works and I don't want to harm my motor. also my oil lines are really loose anybody else have this issue or have any input on my issue, thanks!

Yes you need it hooked up with the spring in the right spot and not have it over rotated.
Going to need to remove all the air box, throttle body, and pay careful attention to where the wire harness and fuel lines are all routed.
Rotate it counter clockwise while carefully hooking up the spring with some pics and such finish rotating till it feels solid. Then hook up your new linkage 2521002 to both sides not allowing it to take off again now take your little mirror and make sure the hash marks line up at idle which can be adjusted with a set screw on the throttle bodies.

Yeah, it's a big issue. Do not run the motor. Not even with premix (oil in gas). Get help from a buddy who is a good wrench, or take it to a dealer if you want the peace of mind. Not sure what you mean by loose oil lines, but there have been service bulletins in the past on the 11 lines, not sure about the 12s. Big air bubbles in the lines need to be bled out, if you have them.

iam not concerned about the oil lines at the moment, i will replace them. i just wanted to make sure that the oil pump is ok if i have spun that arm around a few times trying to get spring to hook up. is the oil pump pretty much just a valve inside? i just want to make i have not thorwn anything out in the oil pump by spining the arm around a few times.

It is like a gate valve when at rest it should be at a certain point. When pushing on the throttle the oil gate valve opens a certain amount to get the ratio.
You probably know this. The question is how many turns does it need to go back to factory setting?
One turn could be disaster.
JMO call the dealer to check or take it there and have them look at it, I say this because if this winter it "blows" up you have a record that it was done/reset-up by the dealer. This should cover your butt for it or the warranty.
Cheap insurance for something critical in a 2 stroke engine.

I have checked the service manual and i do not see anyhting about this, in one section it says to make sure it hasnt over rotated, but does not give any direction after that. i have phoned my dealer and they did not know, im sure someone out there has spun the arm a few times, i just wasnt to make sure that it is ok, this place seems to be the only place with info, dealer is no help.
