oil pump adjustment

Got a 2001 700 rmk, just bought, has a new throttle cable did double check the part numbers it is the right one. the oil pump arm is too far advanced, can't adjust it back anymore. burned a quart of oil to a little over a 1/4 was in alot of deep powder, breaking trail but it seem a little excessive. i'm all about a little extra oil to help, but really not that much. any way of reclocking it or maybe it's just stuck wide open anyway of checking that.

If it is close, you can bend the arm that the adjuster screws into to get a little more adjustment. I beleive the arm only goes on in one position.

Oil Cable

I've never seen one where the jam nuts were at the end of their adjustment and the lines weren't aligning. My son actually has a slight bit leaner for Amsoil.

How far are the alignment marks off?

the marks are now off about 1/4 inch, i moved the adjustment nut to the lower side of the bracket. it still burns i think too much oil, but better than before. about 3/4 of a quart for about 30 miles.
