2014 Pro RMK 800. Went for a ride yesterday. First ride of the year while riding brake light stuck on and never turned off. I assume the brake light switch is stuck or rubbed through harness somewhere anyway we kept riding put on about 60 miles on the ride. Total miles on the Sled are around 200. Got back to the trailer to load up and sled wouldn't go above idle and the cluster had a message that read "Oil Prime" or "Prime Oil" and it wouldn't even try to go into reverse. ended up pulling the sled back away from the trailer and was able to finally get it to go and did a loop in the parking lot and loaded the sled on the trailer. Has anyone seen or know what the "Oil Prime" message means? couldn't find any info in the owners manual or on the web on the subject. The sled did get rolled on it's side and was running for about 20 seconds like that a couple miles before getting back to the truck. Also will the brake light being stuck on not allow it to go into reverse?

Had the same message pop up on my 15 Pro yesterday. It happened right when I started it, to pull her out of my trailer. Shut it down, and re-started. Message went away, and never returned. I am curious what it meant though.

Had this happen to me also because of a faulty brake light switch. This function is activated by holding the brake, giving the sled some throttle and holding the reverse button down, while the instrument cluster is set to show hours and not the odometer.

"Oil Prime" message should show in display, and for about 5seconds you can hold WOT without it reving over about 3000rpms. This way it only activates the oil pump, and you will kinda fog the engine.

Thanks Sunvang. It makes sense I slid back on the trailer when loading tried to back up to give it another shot and that's when it happened. I can't believe I couldn't find any info on this. Thanks again.

MountainHorse!! Make this a STICKY!!!!

On US CFI2 800's? Since what year? If true on US sleds, I bet you can win lots of beers with stump the service tech. If it wasn't poo, I wouldn't believe it could exist and we'd never heard of it.

On my way to the shop to try it out !! Will report back
UPDATE :TRIED REPEATED TIMES .. WILL NOT FUNCTION ON 3 X ...2013 PRO RMK CFI2800

Do you have to stand on one foot and hold your chin slightly up and to the left as well?:juggle:

Good info, thanks!

It seems to me the gauge cluster has modes for more than one machine in it. The "oil prime" mode is more than likely meant for machines with an electric injection pump on them, not a mechanical pump. The function will probably be on the 16' HO engine.

I tried with sled idling .. Set Brake .. held Perc .. waited .. NOTHING

Next held reverse .. applied and held brake ..revved ... NOTHING!!!

Tried rev and hold reverse then hold brake ... NOTHING!!

All while the Hour meter was showing on bottom of guage.....

Anyone else get this to work???? I'm giving up for now (ya right ill try it at every chance )

Probably is for the Ho design pump and doent work for Mech pumps!!

I was hoping to find the fail safe so I could use this function for a roll control or starting line stutter button !!!

Mine's a Snowchecked '14 so I'm assuming it was an early build '14 and not a '15 and newer thing. I'm Picking it up from the dealer tomorrow I will try it with different cluster settings and see if it makes a difference if it is showing Hrs. or Odometer this weekend.

I saw this on my gauge the other day after climbing thru trees, I don't know what the hell was going on.
