Oil Leaking from a Hose

I notice that my sled spews a little oil out from a hose that appears to come from the powervalve region. The hose is dangling down near the bulkhead just in front of the engine. It left a black stain on the bulkhead in 200 miles. Is this normal? If it is, is this where the hose is supposed to going to do this? Seems kind of odd to foul the engine bay with oil on purpose. Not a big deal but odd.

It is in the correct place, that is where the oil is coming from and yes it is odd.

I got a longer length of hose and an arctic cat push pin/zip tie to route the hose down the pan and out the bellypan right where my sway bar used to mount.

I'm thinking it's the vent hose coming from the exhaust valve solenoid. They do spew oil and it makes a nasty mess. I know this won't help you with a Pro but you can re-route the hose like I did on my 09 RMK, as have many others with their sleds.

With this, it doesn't make a mess in the sled (you may get a little splatter on the a-arms), but it will drain on to what ever your sled is sitting on. I have an oil absorbing mat in the trailer for it to drain on.

x3, it is normal. The vent hose unfortunately vents into the engine compartment since (speculation here) the EPA wont allow it to vent outside the sled.

Makes sense that they would have to do something silly like this because of the EPA. Oh well, maybe I will get a longer hose and route it somewhere out the bottom of the sled. Thanks guys!
