Interesting how the article says they have suported the ban in the past to preserve the coastline for tourism.I would bet that the price of fuel is putting the screws to the tourism industry. I dont see how thats a real concern to coastal tourism anyway other than in the event of a spill or something of that nature.

It will be more interesting if the american people can ever put 2 + 2 together. As a nation we are now reaping the "benefits" of the enviro-nazi religion. Unrelenting decads of of increased environmental and wilderness legislation and increased federal medling in any kind of business start, it's absolutely no wonder why comodities supply is down and prices are up. When anti-business policies drive manufacturing, energy production, and materials prodution off shores, its no wonder we turn into a nation of beggars...the global market is a tough enough place to compete.

Now I am not saying improvements to the environment are not needed or appreciated. After all, that is kinda why we get out and snowmobile, to enjoy the outside....I am just saying that a more reasonable ballance should have been worked out.

Anyone who gripes about the cost of gas, should really look at who they have been voting for....

I could not agree more ! My bigest problem with the enviro-craziness is that most of the things they have done to this point are counter produtive to there cause. A great example of this is the new fuel cell cars. Its a great idea I agree BUT we must have the other half of the technology for it to be a net benifit. As it is every wack job homo treehugger that buys one is making the problem worse ! Thats the problem these people only see and hear what they want and ignore the real truth.

Just once I would like to see a politician come up with a 4 year plan, not some whacked out 20 year plan. Lately, all I have seen are long range plans that go well beyond anyones term and will probably be changed after their term is over. Small steps to a bigger goal would be better. It is interesting to watch the talking heads.
Even some dems are starting to question why their leadership won't allow drilling.

I get all the enviro e-mails and such (keeping an eye on the enemy as it twer). They are absolutely terrified they are losing the drilling arguement. As more and more evidence is presented to show just how much oil is in US control, they are sending out weekly requests to call all the dems to try and shore up thier backbone.

As the price of oil goes up, the dollar value goes down and the politicians are starting to get worried.
More and more reporters are starting to point out that the dems are in control of the economy, drilling and commerce. The Dems are trying their best to deflect the whole arguement by saying the Republicans are helping the fat cat oil companies.
Kind of hard to push that when the oil fat cats are telling the dems to let them drill and their profits will fall accordingly.
