oh oh..

i used to work at les schwab, as soon as snow flew it was 12 hour days 6 days a week for a couple weeks. never understood it

What did you order that is on back order? We have nearly every fly carbon helmet in stock, along with Tomahawk Jackets in every color.

Jay, we agree, but such is life. We adapt, order earlier, and hope that people deliver to us in time to deliver to you!

I ordered the fly helmet though western power, and the tomahawk jacket directly through Klim. I made the list to show that all kinds of stuff and companies have supply issues. and all those items have made to me before they were needed and in plenty of time for the season.

So you think a company, who makes it's money selling sled parts, and has the parts advertised on/in it's website/catalog/dealer's showroom, is under no obligation to deliver those parts in a reasonable amount of time because it's the "busy season" ?
I ran a gas station for years. Our busiest times were long weekends in the summer, because in addition to their daily driver vehicles, everyone also busted out their RV's, boats, old cars, etc. So by your logic, I could just stick my head in the sand and order the same amount of gas, smokes, pop, ice, etc as any other weekend....and if (when) I ran out....well, people should have bought their sh!t in advance! Ha...good luck with that. Probably would have been stabbed lol

Like I said, if you want to work on your sled in August, good for you. But for some of us there is more to than *sledding season* and *preparing for sledding season,* and that's not entirely unreasonable. Am I saying I should be able to order the season's hottest item on Christmas eve and have it delivered to my door 8am the next morning? Hell no. Just saying there is a reasonable expectation flowing both ways. Expecting people to order all their sledding stuff in July and August is a pipe dream.

Here is the point. Why can we teach a monkey to sign but you can't learn how to plan for an event a few months away?
This comes down to the following two statements:
Expecting people to order all their sledding stuff in July and August is a pipe dream
Expecting a company to have unlimited stock is a pipe dream.

look I agree with phatty and blown motor that there is often many shortfalls on "predictable" items but looking at the higher percentage of posts they are "mostly related to availability issues to aftermarket into some uncharted waters" of predictability of demand and possibly material or component supply which and should have the potential or waiting purchaser having the patience..imo..

again I think the above is reasonable..

It is quite annoying..

Add Motorfist Hydrophobic mid layers (top )to the list.

Klim too.. I originally ordered a 2014 Storm in mid September only to find out that no one including klim even had them yet or would even have them. for months.

Is this normal in the snowmobile world? I was not in any hurry but now its snowing and I'm still missing things... it will all work out but seeing adds and websites selling items that will not have said items for a month or more is pretty lame. ( Without disclosing that first saying its a backorder/pre-order...none of them do )

Starting to be the norm it looks, and this is because as customers people are getting complacent in our opinion. We have had numerous orders canceled this year because we are promised one date and then it gets pushed back five times for delivery.

Which MF mid layer, the Hydrophobic Jacket?
If it is this one..... http://www.blownmotor.com/products/motorfist-hydrophobic-snowmobile-jacket

We have them in stock, and have since September 15th. I believe we are only low on one of the colors in XL, but I know we at least have XL in one of them.

I'm not saying it's not a good idea. I'm saying it's not realistic in the real retail world. You can use me as an example of someone who is 100% uninterested in sled parts in August. For better or worse, it's just not gonna happen. Buying your winter tires in August is a great idea too....but in years of experience at a car dealership, that's just not that way it goes. If a company wants to make maximum money, it's on them to be ready. Obviously there is a **** happens factor as well.

Blown motor yep thats the one. How do you have them and motorfist themselves does not? ( EDIT it looks like motorfist has them now may have just got them) Mine was ordered from first place parts over a month ago... they are still waiting for it from motorfist.

Yes I cancelled a few orders myself. Ordered things then found they were not in stock for a month or 2.. so I cancelled. After a few times I finally figured out it was the manufacures... so I quit cancelling orders and waited.

KTMDirtFace, we get them before other people because show dealers get their gear early because we go to shows to sell product months before the actual dealers need theirs. I guess for our commitment to thousands and thousands of dollars worth of travel and booth space, we get first shipments. Also, there will always be things that MF, Klim, 509 etc does not have that dealers do have. They should be shipping every piece of gear to their dealers before they ever stock their own shelves.
