OFT billet steering block bushings

I just installed these on my Apex which has 9500 miles, mostly trail miles. There was nearly two inches of play at the end of the bars, and I was considering adding these blocks and replacing a few of the tie rod ends because the free play in the bars was annoying the heck out of me. After installing OFT's billet blocks the steering play is down dramatically, probaly 1 inch of play left at the bars or near the amount of handlebar play of a brand new machine. No need to think about new tie rod ends. I am very happy with the product, it is well worth the 90$ I spent for three of the blocks. I have a few pictures I will post up a bit later, and I also have a video I might post as well if it turned out ok.

Just thought I would let everyone know I am very impressed with the product.

I just received my OFT forward steering kit for my Nytro today:D It looks, fits and feels awesome. By far the nicest forward kit I've seen...props to the OFT Racing gang...I don't think you could've built a nicer piece:beer;:beer;

I might pop for a set once i hear how the trail riders feel about the vibration added if any. One guy made a similar version and couldn't stand it on his hands. Nicely built though, I would love to have a CNC machine!

Got me them parts yesterday. Man they sure are purtty.

Nice looking product, But it will be till Sept. before I do the insall.

ThAX for the quick response, and delivery.

Shad.

We offer these for you Phizzer guys too! Here are some install pics...

We are also looking at the rest of the linkage on the Phizzer... and that is a chore! :rolleyes:

How long is a piece of string? :D

It depends on how well you know yer sled...

It took me about 45 minutes. It would have been less, but I dropped a couple of things that found their way to the belly pan. :mad:

Remove upper plastics, seat and gas tank. That is the best advice I can give you.
Both the upper and lower bushings need to be removed, as well as disconnecting the transfer rod that is attached to the steering shaft, to facilitate replacement.

I highly recommend greasing the roller bearing in the lower bushing with a mid to high temp grease before reassembly - we may produce an oilite to replace that roller bearing as well. It is in a fairly high temp area (just above the head). we'll have to see what the demand for them is...

There is still a slight amount of slop in the lower linkage… even with a only a couple hundred miles on the sled. That is why we are looking into it further.

Good luck fella! :beer;

All we proved that day is that sled parts don't fit on an ATV... and that beer is good to loosen the tongue. :D
