off season

heading up to anchorage tonight for a long weekend. Any must do recommendations for a tourist?

Not much this time of year. Now that most of the tourists are gone, the bars and restaurants can be enjoyed again. Still lots of fresh fish (Salmon and Halibut) and some of the best micro-brews anywhere (The Brew house, Humpy's, Moose's Tooth). Your one weekend to early for the Oxygen and Octane show where all the winter activities and new gear will be on display.

You are really between seasons! Trout and rainbow fishing are good right now . Its getting cold though!

If you are in the anchorage i have some restaurant recommendations at least...

Glacier Brewhouse - steaks / prime rib
Spenard Roadhouse - american / burgers and such
Mooses Tooth - Best pizza in AK
Bears Tooth - Good food, mixture - and has a ski premiere tonight TGR i think
Midnight Sun Brewing company - great beer / food (small place tho)
