The trend to elevate sleds to make them more nimble in the mountains is in full swing. Ice Age can't keep up with the demand and now others are getting in on the elevate craze. Polaris did this with the AXYS in 2016 and subsequent years. What are the odds Cat will incorporate this trend into 2021 and subsequent mountain oriented models?

And if history is any indicator they should be taking payments on 2022 sleds next week, so we should know soon!
There's still plenty of time to amend the build sheets for the 2021's. If their marketing folks thought it would increase their sales by 10-15% they would move heaven and earth to makes sure their sleds had updated spindles so they will sell more units.
I received an e mail from Ac with offers for the 21 if you order before January 31 your new sled may be delivered during the riding season Jan -Mar 2020. With that offer i doubt there will be any changes to what is available now. But you never know? I would expect a new chassis for 22 and you most likely will see changes then. I do hope you are right as i would be all over that upgrade. I still may go with a taller spindle but not until next season.
I see that promo from Cat too. It looks like a few lucky people who order their 2021 sleds before January 31st may have their sled delivered so they can ride them at the tail end of this season.

They've only got 1.5 seasons on alpha rails so I don't see them doing anything big soon. Spindles and a skid drop seem fairly small/easy so honestly they'd be fools not to. Ice age just showed them what's up. They really should do some lifted dual rail mountain sleds. They spent a lot of time getting that skid dialed and they've still got the best track out there that they're not even using anymore. That's free money right there.
They really really need to update the chassis though. Get some weight off the left side of the sled (pipe, center the motor some), and get an air intake that isn't built for a battleship.

I'd be willing to bet 21's are rolling down the line right now, hardly likely we will see changes until 22's come out. They just invested a lot into their midsize line.
