soooo what you are saying is i wont get taxes taken out of my paychecks but will get the chit taxed out of me when i go buy a pack of gum?

I am not sure the $hlt taxed out of you is the correct term, but yes you will pay a FEDERAL SALES TAX similar to your STATE sales tax.

It is not a perfect idea, and I am not sure I want it, but it is an idea, something to consider. I don't know the details, such as what the rate would be, etc.


But under the current system you are rewarded by spending money because you displace much of the income you make. So those that are VERY wealthy end up paying even LESS money than someone that say makes $60k a year.

I am actually MORE in favor of a FLAT tax on EVERYONE.

If yes then I might be interested, because I'm in the 25 percent range now.

As for the national sales tax - sounds great! Until the cost of your loaf of bread and gas doubles in a year. Oh ....wait, ummm ya were there.

Teachers need all the help they can get, preferably from parents raising their children like young adults, not spoiled brats with not my child attitudes. As for pay, raise it to the moon! However, no tenure.

There would be no AGI, because that has to do with your income AFTER our current tax situation. I really don't know what an acceptable number would be but lets say everyone pay a 17% tax. the following is how much you gross, how much in taxes and what you have left;

$20,000 = $3400 in taxes so a take home of $16,600
$40,000 = $6800 in taxes and a take home of $33,200
$80,000 = $13,600 in taxes and a take home of $66,400
$100,000 =$17,000 in taxes and a take home of $83,000

So on and so on. EVERYONE would pay 17% on their income.

I don't know what the percentage would or should be, I just used 17% as an example.

Stop the ear marks and pork barrel spending, what we would save there we could CUT taxes and still be where we are most likely better off.
