The legal aspects of a committed relationship should be afforded all couples.
Perhaps, but in my judgement a marraige is more of a religious union than a legal manuever to qualify for freebees.

Who gives a crap who can marry who if we are facing anarchy and civil unrest in the next decade?
It's always been 1 man plus 1 woman equals marriage. If we change it why can't we start changing the variables like 8 women plus 1 man equals marriage, or 10 men plus 15 women equals marriage? Where does it stop?
The Hunger Games will be a reality.....
LOL
I can't wait for you old guys to pass on so we can get past this issue and get on to focusing on the debt you are going to be leaving us..
Haven't seen it, but heard it was good. Whenever my wife acts so excited about new movies I start getting paranoid like it's some kind of Twilight phenomenon all over again or something. Guess I'll have to look into this one and find out.
Why does it matter? Why is the govt dictating / defining what marriage is?
I think heterosexual couples would have more of a leg to stand on with respect to marriage if the divorce rate wasn't close to 50%. I think we should let gays and lesbians marry so that we can get the rate lower.. lol.
SOOO GOOOD. I read them both each in a day. 3 days ago and 2 days ago lol. I'd read the 3rd but my girlfriend hasn't finished it yet >.<Uhhhhh, read the book first. Seriously.
It's a fast read.
I read it in three days. Also read the second book in three days. I started book one a week ago today, and am 1/4 through number three today. Lol
I guess the thought is that if people are trying to fight for it, it probably means more to them then the rest of us...whose to say gays and lesbians will lower the rate? The gov't can't force marriages on churches, if gay people can find churches that allow it then so be it.

As to finding churches that allow it... getting a marriage certificate is a state form. All it takes is a signature from a judge and 100 bucks or so. It is just paperwork, state paperwork though. Churches don't have to be involved at all.
I thought it was legal in most states?
