Nytro Venting & Screening *pics*

Started to do some more hole drilling (venting) and screening tonight.

Heres what I got so far. I think its turning out well so far. Should definately help get rid of some heat over the turbo anyway..

yep just some house hold goop adhesive on the backside.

dog proof screen from home dpot.

an actual mesh looks a bit nicer, but the price and availability of the screen is hard to beat..

a hole under the logger would breath but sure is going to get air with the rest! nice!

Impulse sends a alum vent that goes on the exhaust side knee pad...I didn't like it, personally. The holes seemed too small to "do much" and the alum got/gets super hot, almost "watch your fingers and knees" hot. Yeah it gets toasty.

I'm hoping the glue holds up to heat like this...we'll see how it goes. I think having it 'open' with bigger holes should definately allow it to exhale a bit better. I at least can't see it hurting things too much.
And, of course, its just fun to drill holes and come up with these templates for me. :)

Once the BBs are 100% complete, I'll get to the PTO side panel hole drilling! :D

awesme job on the headlight hole. :)

see, you will have the 'for show' hood..i have the 'git er dun' hood. lol

i mean hell, yours gets a spot on the bed...sheesh. :P i wouldn't even want to let mine in my truck! hah

very nice work though.

Looks great rotax!
Here´s my hood. I´m running the mcx kit and need air too. I used aluminium to build a small frame around the headlight area and covered it in textilene.

TNytro, that's looks awesome! That's the way I wanted to go, but was having issues with the small frame. Did you sure use L shape or just straight pieces of aluminium? Where did you get the textilene? Thanks

Thanks everyone. Rotax! "git er done" often work well on the hill and in the deep.=) and thats what counts.
I used 1,5 mm straight aluminium. The build of the frame was a PIA. So many bends and twists(but it looks easy). Took me best part of two hours to figure it out, bend and cut it. Used plenty of superglue to atatch textilene to the frame. Cut away the fence grin that sits under the headlight for more airflow. The side of my hood is still "unvented", working on that now. And now for some inside pics.

you will find mesh fabric at: www.outdoortextiles.com

And a day of sticker peeling, drilling holes and gluing screen...
Ran outta glue, but the big vent on top will be screened, and the back shin vent as well.

Obviously both of the ones in front of the clutch, behind the shock as well will get screened.

Some more screening/venting done..

Vented the crotch plastics above the turbo..for some much needed heat disipation.

And added some insulated heat tape to the back side to keep it from getting too soft and weak (I hope).

Added screen to the outside of the MAG, oil vent..just to be safe.

Added screen to the outside of the PTO vents as well..as I was slightly concerned about snow getting through there.
