Nytro track swaps

Was thinking about changing out the stock track before a trip Friday, How much time does it take on these ?? Thinking under 2 hours, any unknown surprises ??

Thanks Hangtime

It's not hard to swap but it's not worth changing out just to use a same length challenger
From running to running w 162 it took me 5 hrs sunday time to swap track, do rail extension's, swap springs and rear shock, Lube it up etc

Really?

So you're saying I'm not going to see any appreciable gain by going from the maverick to the challenger if I keep everything else the same, rails, skid, tunnel and so on?

The maverick sucks and I was hoping to just switch out for a 153 challenger and that that would make a significant difference...

More thoughts please.

it is a difference, but if you are going to a m sled take off challenger, the difference is there, but not that big. It still folds quite a bit, at least mine does. Though I noticed a pretty big braking difference.

Challenger extreme would be something else and I have heard that it is more noticable.

I think going from the 153 Maverick to the 153 Challenger(I had the softer cat one) made a huge differece. I then went to a 144x16x2.5 camo extreme and it was that much better. Best track made IMO.

What he said....cept for 156" Be nice if yami would put on some real shocks and a track for our 15 k:eek:

How do you take up the extra 3"

So if you go with the 156 Camo Extreme, where do the extra 3 inches of track length go? Seems too small for rail extensions...

I guess what I'm asking is is it possible to run the 156 Extreme with the stock skid?

I have been doing some measuring and I think the stock wheels will take up the slack, since it only has to go back roughly 1.5". If they don't, it is recommended to go with 8" or 9" and an offset.

I thought about that as well, if i were to do a 156 i would make it a 16 for the floatation and just move the skid back to flatten the angle of attack

Some guys mentioned paddle bending on the mav, yesterday with about 30k on a new 162 camo extreme they were bent worse than my 2 year old mav 162 on my RX............whoda thought?

If you guys want you can just put your mav track in backwards, the lugs are much stiffer that way for traction, only braking suffers a bit. I did this on my apex and it seemed to help, run it till it's trashed then change it.
