Has anyone found and problems with the design of the steering post?
Seeing if if theres any need for a relocation.

Come on! There's always room for improvement! We do a little easy mod that moves the top of the post forward 2"s, makes the post more vertical and alot nicer to ride!! It would be nice to have it even more vertical if possible.

There is a need for a steering relocation kit. yes more vertical and just a pivot at the top of the post does not work. Instead of a pivot at the top of the post, how about a ball joint that would allow for normal steering.

If you do this can i get a FREE one :)

I would like a post the same as stock but with a T-top instead of the flat plate. Assuming it would be affordable, like $120ish. I like my Powermadd pivoting setup but it's not the prettiest thing.

Most importanly, you need to keep the "T" no more than 3.75" wide. The flat mounting spot on the stock bars is only 3.75", so any wider and you have to trim the top riser clamps. Currently all the available setups are 4.25" wide and require grinding to the riser cap corners(to fit the bend in the bars). Keep it at 3.75" like posted and I think you'd sell quite a few. I really like the stock bars and don't want to have to switch.

One more thing, it's needs to be as strong as stock or stronger.

nikolai, why dont you just buy the rtx post if you only want a T top? would be less than 120 (with decent dealer discount). just a thought. ski

Im running the powermadd set-up.. It works but like Nicolia said it s not the best looking around.. Im going to mill some material off the stock riser and make a pivot adapter to fit.. Will post some pics when done ..

this is what i did . i took the stock post cut the square mount off added 2 inches to the post then bought a peice from RSI and welded it on to my post after i notched it :beer

SORRY!!!! But to answer the question properly,I don't want something better built...Like yamaha would take all our sleds back to fix them anyways!! That's why after market companies are around,If you do't like something on your sled feel free to buy what you like for it.You can make a perfect sled and someone will always find something they don't like about it.It just so happens i did NOT like the riser so I put on an after market MONSTERWORKS riser!!!!!! Every person rides different and likes there sled to feel different,so not ever sled fits ever body's style. AH thus why we modify!!!!! It's just easier to mod on your own than to cry to yamaha about ever problem.Maybe next years sled will be perfect..........but I doubt it!!!!!

Seems to me the steering could use a CV joint and position the post more vertical, which would prevent it from diving to one side when you put weight on it. I am thinking it actually needs to be further back. I already have a pivot riser on and with it forward it is worse. I would be interested in something better as I find the Apex setup a lot easier to control.

I would like a steering post that mounts to the bottom of the frame similar to that of a rev, with no intermediate linkage. Would require the removal / relocation of the radiator and longer velocity stacks for the airbox with clearance but would look and work killer me thinks. Probably able to drop a couple of pounds too.

Though it might require an aftermarket tunnel to loose the radiator.

I've got the base model FX Nytro and thought for sure I'd want the RTX post. So far, the sled has been comfortable for me. I'd still prefer a "T" style post just because I'd have the option to use different height risers. I've not had any issues with the gentle angle of the stock post. Seems like the post should be more vertical but it doesn't feel weird and the bars don't seem to get in the way.
