Nytro quits running after 3 hrs..

My turbo nytro just quits running after riding for about 3-4 hrs then it has power, and will crank over, but no fuel injection. Then by the time we diagagnose the problem, take the belt off and get some rope tied to another sled for a tow, it starts. Then it will run for about 20 minutes to half an hour and just quit again. If you leave it for about 1/2 hour it will run fine for alot longer. Its almost if a relay or somthing is getting hot. I inspected the starter relay and there was some corrosion there, the turbo installer had the oil pump on the power wire there so I removed that and ran it to a relay, the wire was only holding by a few strands. Could that of been overloaded or is there another relay that would cause this. No error codes are present. When it quits the fuel pump is still working, the sled stops suddenly and almost throws you over the bars. Any idea's??

There are four other relays under the engine,

5DM-81950-00-00 RELAY ASSY 1 unit
8FP-81950-01-00 RELAY ASSY 3 units, What do all these do? I will replace all these to see if this fixes it too.

Hey Ron...check out this thread; http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=132407

It sounds as though you're boiling fuel prior to the pump - hence the cranking, but no fuel when hot! Give me a call if you have any questions...I just finished dealing with the same issue - mine just wasn't as extreme. I figure I have it cured though:D

Cheers,

Kevin

There sure seems to be alot of running problems with Powderlites lit lately.

The Powderlites kits are running just fine...we have just experienced much warmer weather this year - which has caused runability problems with allot of kits. Some issues are do to installation too! It's just growing pains for everyone.
It seems as though there are allot of guys on SnoWest running PL kits though...
I know there customer service is second to none:beer;

no codes?

the 4 relays are for the fan, ignition, head light and fuel pump. the three are innerchangeable the head light is the odd ball with 5 connectors vs 4.

I really dont understand there being heat problems on a rearmount turbo, front mounts are way hotter under the hood and aren't experiencing this. I run a mcx at 18lbs all day long sometimes at +8 degrees with no problems whatsoever. I read those posts from before and i really think you guys are on the wrong track theres not enough heat there to boil the fuel. I think the powderlites kit has issues or maybe wiring issues. those connects really should have dielectric grease on them when turbo gets installed. Whats causing all this heat anyway theres a heat shied over bellows and header.

I am very familiar with both the PL and MCX kits. With the original fuel line routing on the PL kit it has a low spot in between the tank and the rad just above the header pipe shield. When run hard the heat would vapourize the fuel in the line prior to the fuel pump (different effects at different elevations) - in turn giving no fuel pressure and no runny runny:D I'm sure if it was a PL kit problem, replacing the fuel lines with shielded stainless braided line and a little venting wouldn't have fixed the problem;)
Some MCX guys have had this issue as well...it just depends on the routing of the fuel lines...

now it runs for about 10 minutes and then dies. Fuel line wrapped not warm. Rb3 box cool, feel pressure always good. Runs then slowly gets worse only last a few minutes between running then gets so bad it won't even run anymore. Then put in trailer ran for 1/2 hour no problem. Could it be the RB3 box? No codes either!

Rode for 3 plus hours on Sunday, Ran great, no issues. The weather was a few degrees colder. Or mabie letting run in trailer helped. Im replacing the RB3 box and recheched all the wiring.
