Nytro MTX handle bar warmer..

I had HotGrips on my Rev with Fly bars and loved them. They have a sticky rubber compound so you still get good grip, and they pump out 39W on high. Even with aluminum bars my hands would get HOT. You just can't run hooks with them. $70 for the pair from DennisKirk.

RSI Handlenbar Wiring to Apex

So is this a continous loop I am wiring into? I am not getting heat out of the new hand grips even though I have them supposally wired correctly? Any more info on the Wiring on the GT?

What year Apex? Do you have the manual handy? Might want to verify the wires and connections.

On the nytro the left and right side are in parallel... ie both side hot lead is connected to the same wire from the ecu. Same with ground.. both grounds are connected to the same ground for the ecu..

You mind taking some pics and posting them? Might be something that we are assuming or you are assuming..

So the answer was there is not a separate hot for each side... they get connected to the same one coming from the ecu, but there is a y in it that goes to each warmer.. This is on the Nytro though... I don't know about the Apex models.

This is the configuration on the nytro...

Note the configuration of wiring for the handwarmers....

How do you wire the three RSI :confused:wires to a two wire system apex gt? I know that the rsi wiring is white is hi, blue is lo, and red is ground. On apex gt left bar is yellow and black, and right bar is black and black with red strip? Do you wire hi and low toughter? as positive and red to ground or is it more complicated?

yes, hi/low twist together and solder to your 'hot' lead from the sled.
ground from heater to ground lead from the sled.

not exactly... There are two options...

hot - follow the instructions as indicated on the RSI sheet. These grips will be hotter then stock, by how much I don't know... needs real testing for that.

crazy hot - use the white as ground and tie the blue and red together putting them in parallel. Note this is what I am planning on doing... haven't done this yet. The resistance is quite small with this method, though it is guaranteed to get really hot, as it will be twice the power as the hot setting. Not sure if it is needed either... but it is a good option to have.

Thanks for collecting this info Ruffy. I'm picking up my warmers from Wade on Saturday as well. I'm thinking I need to bring my stuff to yer new place with some beers and have some sorta Oscsillyscope party. :beer;

iam running RX1 had warmers on my 08 fx nytro and got rid of the switches and running toggles now, they get super hot now i can melt my gloves on bar 8 and cools down nice on bar 2

I am running the full rsi setup on my Nytro, i have the rsi handwarmers but I did not install them because I thought that it would not work. I peeled the stock warmers off and put them on my new bars, so it this works I could go back and put rsi warmers on instead.

You know your torsion spring is not in the plastic block right? Nice looking ride BTW.

I'm going to order the RSI backcrounty bars, stubby hooks, heater elements, and 8" grips. It'll be nice to have warm hands this season.

Are you guys using aftermarket bars running the stock plastic block(with the handwarmer controls) or running toggle switches? It would be nice to get a toggle switch, AC wilwood brake reservior and ditch the entire yamaha brake/heater block.

I am running '06 Apex GT and still confused about why the RSI warmers are not working. Did you guys find anything out from the company this weekend and if so???

I do not have the manual handy, it has been on order for a month or so, which color is the ground on the sled?

Good call, no did not even notice. I have an M-10 on the way so hopefully wont have to deal with this stock suspension much longer. The scary thing is I went riding last weekend and did not even notice!

2006 Apex GT hand warmers

South Seattle is one of the cheapest dealers to order OEM parts, easy online ordering. :D

Still having issues getting my RSI warmers; finally got the manual but not clear on which one to follow because they are showing a one wire system, but the Apex GT 2006 is a two wire system...

I have them wired, but it looks like it is looping around and when hook them up they are going to a continously loop and not running correctly.

Please advise....

just wondering if any one has used the cr racing hand warmers? ive orderd a set and there waiting to go on the sled when i have a moment . also how do you know what wire is hot on the nytro hand warmer wires?

So I found out why my nytro handwarmers suck so much..... I wore out the warmer element and it would no longer be an closed circuit and operate...

I am curious how long it has been like this.... Check out the pics. Both sides had the same issues too... Might be something to consider if you are having problems... Unfortunately you can only check by trashing your grips.. I just cut mine off with a knife
