Nytro. How long????

How long is it taking riders to get "used" to the Nytros. I rode one this last weekend and it really felt uncomfortable (the snow was DEEP). I was comparing it to my D8 Polaris, and the Nytro felt awkward to say the least. I could not wait to get back on the D8. I am not bashing the sled, as I have a Tapex and would really like to add a TNytro to my stable. Maybe more time, I don't know.

2 solid days and you will be ripping it up and never wanting to ride a different sled again.

That is what I am hoping for. I really don't want to have to put a turbo on the D8 as we all know what comes with that.

My first day on my Nytro i thought i made a mistake lol, it was so different and rider forward etc that the Apex i wasnt happy. The distribution of your rider weight is a key roll, and very very different than the Apex, but after day 2 i will never ever look back, nor do i ever want to ride the current Apex again.

I put 500 miles on my Mytro MTX and to be honest I never could get used to it. :( Great for carving in the open but never could get it to work in the tight trees. It's sold now and I am riding my wifes 08 A/C M-8 for the rest of the season until I order a new sled for next year. I talked one of my best friends who is a diehard Poo rider into buying the Nytro MTX and he is in the same boat as I was. I think he will be back on a Dragon for next year.;) Not saying that some guy's are not getting it to work though.

I 2nd Darko. It took me 3 good days of riding. I to thought I made a mistake and was ready to sell it. The first two days of riding a brand new sled with a turbo, which everything was new to me. (I was comming off a 06 m7. ) We rode in some real technical stuff, off cambers and tight trees. Not the places to get used to a 4 stroke turbo and new chasis. Now after 12 days of solid riding, the M is up for sale and I don't think I would ever go back to a two stroke. But hey, they make a bunch of different sleds, not one sled is made for everyone. jm2c !

Took me about a hundred miles. I too, thought I had made a mistake, but now I can ride the $h!t out of it and wouldn't trade it for any other stock sled I've ridden. Sure, they may have more power and climb higher, but I just have too much fun on the nytro!

With the shortage of Nytro's on the market new and the demand so high, even if you decide you don't like the sled you will still be able to get out of it without too much pain. The used market for quality low mile sleds is always good.

I rode upto Spains last weekend. We stopped at the top of the road. When I went to ride away, I felt like I was on a balance beam at low speeds. The ultra deep snow seems to excentuate the "tipsy" feel of the Nytro.
The learning curve continues, even at 600 miles.

I've got over 600 on it and it feels good. Only area that I notice is when you are following a track through the trees, don't want to get a ski off or she dives. Keeps your attention focused:D

I came off a rev and there was very little difference. It just handles better and is more responsive.

I rode a new dragon and it felt like the weirdest sled I have ever rode, did not like it at all. So I guess it makes a big difference what your previous sled was.

First two rides I was carving up 3 foot meadows, no technical riding yet, but I have no issues of yet, sled fit me perfectly, handle bars are perfect,
(I'm 6'1") not one bit tired at the end of the day.... Lovin' every minute of it!! :D
Came off a 2004 Viper.

Your overall ability will dictate how long it will take you to get used to this chassis. However once you got it you will hate standing on let alone riding any other sled. The Nytro is the best sled ever built in my opinion. I recommend 1-2" higher and 2" forward with the bars. :beer;

I'm a former Rev rider and it took me about 150 miles to get comfortable. It's hands down the most responsive sled I've ever ridden, I can't stand riding anything else and if someone demos my sled I usually just sit and wait instead of riding there's.

i still have troubles riding mine with a foot of pow then a hard base . in the deep powder though wow . just lean youre upper body abit and youre carving . it took me 2 days to get used to it then antoher day to get used to it again after the turbo . some of my buddies hop off there revs and feel right at home in 5 minutes though

I used to ride revs, and felt at home on the nytro out of the trailer. My buddy rides a Tapex and said he prefered the dragon, I rode the dragon, and if the snow wasn't so deep, I may have walked back to my sled, worst steering sled I have been on, even more than the M series. Not saying anything regarding them being bad, but it would take me a few days to get used to it. The Nytro is closet to the feeling of the rev, and I have heard over the years guys saying they had a hard time adjusting to the rev as well.
Buy it, if you like it, keep it. If you don't, sell it. Everyone's going to have different thoughts

Exactly what everyone else says. If you like the Rev you will love the Nytro. If you like the Dragon then the Apex will suit you better. After riding Apexes I had a real tough time with the Nytro as I found it takes a different, more committed riding style to initiate the turns. It is a much quicker handling sled than I was used to and for about the first 500km I was thinking I made a mistake. My last trip was the first time I actually preferred my sled over my son's Apex and didn't want to ride his sled in the trees. The Nytro turns a lot quicker and tighter than the Apex ever did. My son adapted to the Nytro a lot quicker than I did as younger, aggressive riders adapt quicker. Moving my steering post forward and lowering air pressure in my floats made a huge difference, I also narrowed the ski stance another inch. Every Rev owner that has ridden my sled has liked it, one is even buying it before next season. And then there's the boosted throttle response :D

Good points made. I do agree the Rev and Nytro have much more in common than the Nytro and D8. I have some time on the new XP and it, like the Nytro, does take some getting used to.

I guess we will try it again this weekend and see if it feels any better. It's a little hard getting off the Tapex, which is an absolute blast, and "learning" a new sled.
