Nytro Front A-Arms - ZBros or Skinz?

Thats definetly true of the harder super light metals such as Titanium and Chromoly. I'll let everyone no if my arms ever fail and in what location. However, it sounds like Zbros is the way to go---so far!

What about CR chromoly, are they holding up? Anyone know?

Well I promised I would let everyone know how my Alternative Impact titanium a-arms held up.
Yesturday, I was in a nasty wreck. I was cruising along very fast when I hit the rock from hell that was quietly tucked underneath about a foot of snow. Holy sh!@# did I hit it hard on the left side. I got knocked off about 20 feet to the left. In slow motion, I watched my sled slip away from me through the air and T-Bone itself right into a tree..
The damage: my lower left titanium a-arm was pretty bent---but not broke. The lower heim joint was bent at almost a 45+/- degree angle---but not broke. We managed to free the sled from the web of branches and drive it out 20 miles to the truck.

Got it home and checked all the welds on the arm----solid!! If that was my stock apex--those arms would have been oatmeal!!

just thought I would share--thanks

I went out yesterday. Finally was able to ride on a couple feet of powder, the Skinz front end is awesome. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to Skinz and a GREAT product....

Can you expand on what you thought was so awesome?

With the Skinz front end you can side hill and carve with ease. My first couple rides i didn't no what to think. But after talking with Jeff at Skinz and getting my center shock dialed in, it handles like a completely different sled. Its one of them mod's once you ride it, you wont ride without it. As for the hiem joint problem. I haven't hit anything, but will switch them just in case when i receive the new ones.

Called Zbroz yesterday they are 3 weeks out:face-icon-small-dis my left lower A arm is bent.

Anyone got a used set of 10' A arms they want to sell??

HOLY S***! 10' A-arms??? no wonder your hitting rocks!:face-icon-small-sho... sorry, had to do it. glad to hear you can ride out after that though. dont suppose you got any pics of it tangled in that tree do ya? everybody loves to see some carnage like that, except the rider of course.

Haha yeah I am an idiot I'm sure I didn't do that right. Hit a rick while climbing. Caught traction on a rock and threw me into another rock that was also hidden. As hard as I hit there shouldn't have been anything left on that side of the front end but must have hit it just right I guess cause all it did was put a long bow in the lower A arm

What's the scoop with the center shock? I rode mine the other day but w very limited powder and I took it easy on the trail w the breakage issue in the back of my mind. I will say that it is now a piece of cake to walk it on it's side.

I was running 80lbs went to 125 now it handles great, before I added more psi the front was to heavy.

I run the titanium Alternative Impact. 11lb weight loss and can handle quite a beating.

For only a grand===not a bad choice.[/QUOTE

What thickness of ti do they use?
I had 2 sets of diamond s ti a arms bust on me with very little impact.
I just don't trust ti anymore, maybe if they upped the thickness a little.

CSM, ASTM, B338, GR. 9 Titanium:
Seamless Tube: 1.00" x 0.051"
Heat No. T07-0105
Lot No. 07J18

The Zbros will be here next week..... I'm looking forward to the handling of the +3... Also my 8" Slydogs just arrived. Next project 174" x 3"!:face-icon-small-win

You get a chance to ride this?

I am curious if anyone can notice the difference between the two front suspensions.

I just picked the Zbros front end last night coming home from Revy..... So will have installed for this weekend. I will take some pics. So stay tuned...

Rode revvy 3 days over new years with new z-bros +3 front end.. Sled felt easier to manuever around in tight areas an alot more predictible Im not working as hard to get it to go where i want.. Sidehilling was never an issue with old front ends but i found myself laying it over to far an high siding abit as its easier to get over now..
Only issue i found with it is steering tie rods hit lower a-arms when your turned all the way either way. I talked with Nathan form zbroz about this an there thinking of making some smaller diameter tie rods..
Overall im impressed!

Have five good days on my skinz now and I have no complaints. Way more predictable on the trail which is what I was after. Got my updated hiem joints and will install em but five days on the "bad" ones and have bumped and hit some stuff and no issues.

Just need more POW:face-icon-small-ton
