My bud purchased a 840 bigbore dragon 163 setup by carls came with lots of extras and got a super smoking deal on it. I finally got my 700 back up and running "bad stator" we took them out for a lil ride in a feild we did a little drag raceing keep in mind iam running a 174 i could pull pretty hard on him i thought it would of stayed with me being it has more cc's and shorter way lighter track.

what are some you guys running in your 840-860's for clutching, we cleaned the clutchs he had 10-66 weights limegreen team wich i beleive is 150/340 cant remember exactly but i think the helix is a 66-64-.36.

Also what should his sled turn for rpms

That's too bad. The ones I've been around rip. Ken at K&R Autobody in Lewistown has one. If no else comes up w/ some tips, give him a call at his shop. 406-538-3236.

The 700 is no slouch with the twins spanked some 154 xp's m8 153 blah blah blah but just thought it shoulda been closer. I think some clutching will help out alot as its just got one of carls setups in it. Going to go with fett bros new style weights play with the helix once we get the 174 on it. But i have no clue what they are running for rpms iam guessing 8200 as thats what slp recomends.

What altitude were you riding at? 6-8000ft? I certainly don't claim to have any knowledge about those motors, but that looks like a flatland setup. I know the 900 torque monsters could make use of that helix, but I'm not sure that is what he wants in that one. As well, the 10-66 would be closer to sea level I would think unless this thing is 200hp or something. :face-icon-small-con

The 10-66's and lime green spring is the set up for 8-10K Helix should be a 64-44 .46 with a Black/purple secondary spring.

What elevation are you at currently?

I will double check the helix but it ran good today turned 8100 so its a lil shy on rpms really waiting till we get the 174 on it and weights in it before i spend much time on it

Monte your my go to guy on clutching ideas i should be able to figure it out though. I sent you a PM monte

Assuming it has the right CDI in it it should run 8400RPM.

They pull 10-66 Belly Busters here in Utah at 8400RPM with the Carl's cut helix.

Put it on a hill and see what happens... I've seen a well running '03 800 VE stick with the 860 Carl's in a drag race on the flats... different story when they moved to a hill.
