Not as straight as I use to be

I have a 2002 700 RMK vertical edge. Did a complete checkover today and I discovered that I have a bent lower radius rod on the right side. About 1/4" deflection. Noticible but it doesn't look too bad. What is your advise for repair. Buy a new one, straighten the old one with a press, or leave it alone as it does not appear to impact performance.
Thanks You're wonderful.

straighten the old one with a press...run it tell it won't stay straight
buy another one for when it breaks.

Strighten it. Did both mine multiple times. I would recomend that u pick one up though cause dealers never stock them and i missed out on a couple good weeks of riding waiting for one to come in. I finaly broke one but it was out almost an inch and i tried to fix it. U can always make your own if you have the fab skills.

you can bend them back straight several times or more.
we just always carried one as a back up. that way we did'nt have to use any wooden ones last year. :face-icon-small-hap

You can also make your own for way less than they sell them for. I bought enough 3/4" 6061 al with 1/4 or 3/16 wall can't remember to make 4 for 19 bucks. The tappes are about $6 each. I also bend mine back in shape many times before replacing.

Lol...dont ask, dont tell

Yeah, back on topic...I too have a bent lower left radius rod on my 03 Edge.

Havent done anything to it yet as it doesnt seem to effect steering at all.

I kind of like the sound of manufacturing my own out of round stock...heck of a lot cheaper than even buying used ones off eBay to the tune of $35 + shipping each...IF you can even find them.
