not a bent steering post

Im new to this but i wanted to let people know What I found. Doing some get ready for snow maintenance I noticed my steering post rubbing the oil can. Every body I talked to said my steering post was bent. Didnt look bent and on this forum i saw some people that heard the same thing. I found some more probs like a broken motor mount, so pulling the motor i was unhooking the oil lines and holy to oil tank slipped out of the holes on the bottom, un hooked the screw put it into place and i had plenty of clearance. To make a long story short if steering post is rubbing oil tank maybe check this first.. SORRY FOR BABLING ON BUT I JUST SAVED $150:face-icon-small-hap

Ya imagine that going unnoticed climbing a mountain side and the only one to notice all the oil leeking out from that post rubbing the tank are the people at the bottom. Thats the first thought I had stranded with a blown motor in the middle of who knows where. Since I have the motor out and have a broken front left mount anybody have ideas on other things to check, since im all torn apart. Physically and sled wise. Thanks

Clean all the bulkhead welds and look for cracks. I have my 700 out and washed the engine bay to find a crack on the chaincase side.
