Looking at a m1000 with Noss. I have not been around Noss before. I'm not afraid to figure it out, but my ? is dose it shortn the life of the motor. Is it hard on pistons, rings, rods, crank? It was installed by a pro mod shop so I would think its set up right. Should I take it off?, or not buy the sled at all??

Alot does depend on who set it up. I've run a Boondocker set-up on my carbed UBR900 for years, it is trouble free as long your octane requirement is met. I have a friend who has run a Boondocker set-up on a fuelie 800 Dragon that has also been totally trouble free. I have also seen an improperly calibrated unit on a M1000 that destroyed his motor in about 8 seconds. I believe Deto and going overly lean are your main concerns, if you can keep both these things in check you ought to be in good shape.
