Hi Guys!

Got some riding in at Little Truckee Summit last Friday and it was awesome!! I was watching the temp on my 05 RMK 900 and it varied from 134 to 153. Is that normal or is 153 a little high? The trail was not groomed yet but the sleds had packed it a little. It seemed to help when I put my scratchers down.

Leave the scratchers down when you are on the trail with a 900 unless there is a couple inches of powder on it. Those Temps are normal but if it goes much hotter they will overheat and start boiling out the antifreeze

ours run 126-140 no scratchers because we run simmons skis with their snow deflectors. with out them 135-150 most of the time till i put down the scratchers.

Yup, Thermostat opens at 126, depending on conditions mine likes to run between 130-140. I would put the scratchers down in less than 2-3" of fresh snow or if temps go above 150-155... You can run it hotter than that of course, but at the cost of performance. 'Limp mode' activates at a little over 200*F if I remember correctly and cuts power to 1 cylinder. (Don't let it get that hot, lol. I have read of Head Gaskets melting @ 215*F) If snow conditions suck I usually start piling snow on the running boards at about 165-170*F, that helps tremendously.
