noobie question

alright so the question is in what situation should you steer in the opposite direction that you want to go(basicly, turn right when your going left) because to me that doesn't make much sense unless you figure your pulling the handlebars will get your sled turned better than the skis

Get used to it, because thats how you steer 80% of the time in the fluff. Whenever you are in remotely deep snow, you are going to have to do this, expecially when sidehilling. All you are doing is moving the tips of your ski's out of your way so that you can lean the sled over and because your rear is going to be moving faster than your front, the sled with begin to turn, or rather pivot. How sharp you turn and how far you lean determines how the sled reacts to the turn.
Hope this helps,
Nolan

Pow turns

Get used to it its the only way to through down pow turns. Practice and soon you'll be dragging off the site and be addicted like the rest of us.

yeah, it's weird the first few times.

You want to "steer" with the back dragging-side of the ski, not the front. It won't have "traction" in the normal sense either, but you'll definately feel it when you hit it.

Findin the balance point on teh sled is the hardest part.
