non-resident snowmobile permit

Hold on Cateye. I was just on the new site and you can still re-new your registration online. You still can't register a sled that is not already in your name online.

FFT.

Non res permit

In 2002, I bought 2002 RMK and a permit (registration)!!! But STATE OF COLORADO FAILED to order on time and no permits to handout when you pay for them at dealer. USFS stopped me for no sticker! I said "You SEE my receipt, i paid, your STATE failed to order on time. Like , what else would that persons job entail? He was going to issue me at a ticket, I said this is FRAUD and you can be sued. I paid, therefore "No reason to issue ticket" And you already know there are "NO" stickers to handout! THINK! He thought about it and handed my "Receipt" back.

I saw the same thing as QReiff. A resident can do an online renewal.

But, a couple of days ago, I checked on the ATV renewals, and you couldn't do that right now. I hope they fixed it, since the ATV renewal cards are being mailed right now.
I wonder if this has something to do with the new law creating a quasi-title situation for rec vehicles?

I think we just caught the website at a time of transition from the old website to a new one. When I checked on Monday you couldn't renew boats, snowmobiles or OHV's online and now the renewal system (for residents) is working today. So I think that was just a timing thing.

GOOD NEWS!

I just received an email from Mike King. There was a series of emails in the chain talking back and forth among key employees confirming some of the things that are wrong with the current system that have already been pointed out in this post and clearly stating that they thought they could change the system to allow temporary permits to be printed. There was also a comment from one of the employees that they should look at OHV permits at the same time.

Mike's parting comment was that he thinks they can move in this direction.

So I wouldn't call it a done deal yet but it sure sounds like it's in the works.

Just a quick update -

I spoke with Bob Broschied (sp), the new director of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Thursday and he assured me that this is a done deal. By the time they are through you will be able to purchase your nonresident permits via your smartphone. They hope to be up a running in time for next season.
