No reverse. 2014 RMK Assault

My '12 came new with 105 #'s compression, 108-110 after first couple rides!! (900' elevation to boot).

After a refreshed topend last year (Indy Spec w/OEM pistons) i was right around 125.

Factory sent engines are in the WTF range nowdays!! Changed mine at only 13 or 1400 miles i think.

How did you turn your idle down? Is there a idle adjust screw on these sleds? Mine idles around 2500 rpm and I have no reverse either. Hit reverse button and it doesn't do anything. Thinking idle might be to high.

This is definitely too high idle... You cant just turn down the idle. It can be tweaked, but requires the full TPS adjustment, so you know where the final settings are at.

Finally was able to work on the sled.

Seems it was the TPS out of adjustment. Using a wiring harness built by a fellow SnoWest'er I was able to reset the TPS. The sled now goes in and out of reverse as normal. Although now it has a high idle, 2400-2600 RPM. I should be able to bring that down to under 2000.

You should follow the recommended specs for the tps adjustment, but you can tweak it just a hair... (The BASE is the important setting). So once its verified, turn back the idle just a smidge. If your idle volts are say .740 Back it off a touch and try .738 for example. Those are hypothetical numbers, cant remember the exact specs, but think im close for example.

Yep that's basically what I did. I did a lot of research on the TPS process before digging in. Reset/adjusted the TPS to stock specs first to get the reverse working. Then brought the idle down via the idle adjustment screw. All seems to be working now. Although all I've been able to do is run the sled on a stand.
