No P-2?

Looking in the 2011 wish book, I see all of the lesser sleds have the NEW P-2. All of the BIG GUNS have the old Lwt. Thought the new 2ndry was supposed to be the new shiz-nit ? Can someone please edge a ma cate me?

.

I thought so too.
I have always been under the impression the LWT does not have top end speed due to the size of the hubs of the sheaves(the belt cannot ride down low enough to give that overdrive we so enjoyed on the old button clutches). When I look at the new P-2, it looks to be the same size of "hub" area?
Also the LWT weakness is rotational friction due to the spring not being a compression spring, it is more of a rotation spring.
I guess what I am getting at,, is why don't Team Industries look at making a LWT that has a smaller hub to allow for the sheeves to expand more and the belt to ride lower to possibly give that overdrive we used to get? Polaris should have designed this into the P-2.

I suspect it is all about marketting.

I've got a P2 and we've run a P2 on a couple of mod sleds and it runs cooler and has more topend than the TEAM... so I'm at a loss for why they wouldn't offer it on the 800.

The Team is 1 lb lighter might be one reason because it costs Polaris more for the Team.
