No offense to my local paper, but I get all the info you do, through the internet. All the local stories go up online, all the sports scores, all the weather info....as many jobs are you have, I don't feel the need to go out on a limb to save you...

Sometimes, obsolete industries are just....obsolete.

I'm with luvtoride, we were hearing stories of struggling papers even 3-4 years ago with a great economy. They are just playing the bad economy card now.

Internet ruined the local paper, that and their inability to adapt.

Although I do find stuff I wouldn't/didn't know to look up on the net, that what these papers need. Stay off the main stream big storys and throw in the other stuff you didn't know existed

tear drop memorial gift from Russia would have been a good example, throw up a huge image on the front cover and voilla` papers sold!

The main problem with both printed news and the mainstream news is noone trusts them anymore. The mainstream TV news orgs are in just as much trouble as the printed news. Places like FOX news and CNN have taken HUGE chunks of viewers away from the mainstream press, online orgs like Drudge Report have taken most of the readers away from printed news.

Poeple don't trust the "reporters" to actually report the truth anymore and I for one would love to see the liberal news go down.

When GE stock was down to 7 dollars I wrote to them a lot, telling them my family had a lot of of their stock and it was high time they dumped NBC and MSNBC but no avail. If I decide I want be in a real bad mood all I have to do is turn on Olberman Or Maddow and it only takes about a minute and a half to do the job. If some one asked me to describe them, I just don't know enough foul adjectives to do it.

well said. I personaly have not purchased a news paper in years and do not watch the local news on tv much,They can't even get the local weather correct at the moment of their broadcast.I don't buy the paper because they have a political egenda that is not mine so I will not support them,nor will I support any business that has any large political advertisements in sight,especially NOBAMA.Yeah I've had to drive sometimes a long way for products at another retailer but it is worth it to me not to support them in any way shape or form.
