No fireworks for us

Well as of yesterday at noon they have banned the sale and the use of all and any fireworks for eastern MT. We are burning up over here and really could use some rain. Wish us luck!! We have more fires burning in our state then all the others combined.

Crazy!! And to think the NW part of the state saw RECORD precip in June. Places were getting 6 to 7 INCHES of rain in June.
Here around Missoula we only got about 2" in June.

I wish they would ban them here.Fires are all around in every direction and some dumbass starts another one every day. NM is always dry but this year is ridiculous. I have never seen it this bad. 100 deg + and 3% hunmidity the only good thing is that it has been so dry so long there are fewer weeds and grasses than normal.

no fireworks here....thank goodness! Whole state is a giant tender box waiting for it to burn. Big disappointment though for the kids.

Maybe I could come up with something for them to enjoy in place of fireworks. Maybe the Mentos/coke fountain of fun?

That our problem too. 104 out there today and the winds are blowing 25-50mph and now we have storms coming in with a good chance of lighting and thunder. Our forests are so dry now that one fart and up she goes.:face-icon-small-sho

I hear sighs of relief in emergency rooms everywhere as they now don't have to worry about people without all their fingers showing up throughout the day on top of everything else they likely have coming through the doors with all the fire activity lately...

BUT to all y'all out there fighting dry fire weather and without fireworks know that we salute and support you as fine members of this great country:usa2:

All the best for a very safe and enjoyable 4th!!

You couldn't start a fire around here with a can of gas. June had over double the regular rainfall, out of 30 days it rained 22. Great for the hay and graze but it needs to stop soon so a guy can cut some hay. :face-icon-small-dis

2010-2011 winter we had record snow fall. 2011 spring and summer had record amount of rain fall. 2011-2012 winter never had a snow fall stick around for more then a week. 2012 spring = no rain and lots of fuel lying around from last years record rain fall. This is only SE MT that I'm speaking for. This is going to be a bad year for fires. Weird year this is turning out to be

You haven't seen weird but it is coming in November!!!

Thankfully no fireworks allowed here in SW South Dakota. Two large fires burning 15-20 miles west of me. A C130 air tanker crashed Sunday afternoon killing 4 of its crew of 6 on that same fire. God be with their families. Will be spending tommorrow patrolling the lake area probably dealing with those not smart enough to leave the fireworks at home. Pray for rain now snow latter.

None are in the usual snowmobile riding area. 2 are between Hot Springs and Edgemont. 1 is West of Custer near the Wyoming border. 1 is NW of Newcastle WY (still South of Four Corners WY and West of Hwy 85). 1 that has been mopped up around Crow Peak near Spearfish (within current no snowmobile area) and 1 that has been mopped up next to Sheridan lake (North of Hill City).

Anything in the Rochford area?

it is so dang dry over bozeman way as well, luckily not quite as hot but is even a little scary out riding the dirtbikes. affraid to brush up against any dry grass or something!

aside from a few little sprinkles havent seen much for rain in a while. nothing soaking at least.

Cubster, what town are you in/near/hiding out in?

Scott, I'm in Miles City. We have the ash creek fire just south and a little west of us, the DAHL fire just got under controll which is 150ish miles from us, another started in the hysham hills 80 miles west of us and several more just out of town that are just about contained but still fires starting up daily.

Same here they are adviseing us NO OFF ROADING AT ALL. No trucks, cars, 4wheeling, dirt bikes, heck don't even fart while outside right now!!!

There was not a complete ban on fireworks in wisconsin but most were cancelled. Crazy dry year. Less than a half inch all month.
