no electric start rev

ok heres the story, just lost electric start on 05 800 rev. i can cross the solinoid and start it. swapped out with another solinioid from my spare and same thing. hit the start button but no start? is it the button itself? hop you all can help.

Most of the time its the spring that becomes weak and doesn't engage the ring gear. I would bypass the electrical system and just energize the starter and see if it engages.

Why would it engage then when i cross the solenoid? I know the starter needs to be rebuilt becasue the spring has became weak as it has started to engage the ring under RPM. Thanks for the input

You're right. I misread the original post and just seen you can start it by jumping the solenoid. I would agree that it seems to be the switch or a bad wire to the switch.

You may want to ask this question over on dootalk. The mountain forums on snowest typically dont have riders with starters and batteries due to weight concerns. The midwesterners love their starters.

If you pull start and hit the RER button and nothing happens then it is the button. I'm in the process of replacing mine @ $124.00
