The brc motor is based off the older ktm 300 so there is no counterbalancer.

The balancer shaft is driven off the PTO side and runs across under the reed block. I think the only parts that are donated from KTM is the clutch and transmission parts.

For me the attraction of efi is no flooding and easy starts, even after a get-off that leaves the bike upside down for x amount of time, plus fuel economy and ability to monitor and adjust AFR.

As attractive as efi is.........

I will say that easy starts are very attainable with a Lectron after spending a lot of time climbing waterfalls and goat trails in the summer with my 300.
Bike probably flips down the hill 20x a day and spends quite a bit of time upside down.

I ran the same spark plug for probably 60 hours before swapping it because I thought it might like a new one.

Also the Lectron legitimately gives 30% better fuel economy over a slightly worn Keihin carb.

Agreed.. my yz250 -10... Pull the choke kick and go... I have a much harder time with 2014 ktm 450....do an dance , use a booster , get the sun to shine on it right... And it starts right up

So no one is choosing a Honda for the ultimate setup?
I've been looking at a 2017 crf450rx, mostly for e start with backup kicker.

18 YZ450F and a CMX or Snowtech would be my choice! But My actual plans are to get the bike/kit I have paid off.

For resale sake and to save the expense of another build I sure hope that panthera is a flop lol. If it's for real I'll have a brand new full race mod 490 for sale real cheap.
