Newport WA- best place to ride from?

Have some friends coming up soon to go riding, just wondering which place to go for the best hopes of finding some good riding. I know of the parks at Calispell Ck and the one around Cooks Mtn- any suggestions as to which is better, or somewhere else to try?

We were up in the Kings Lake area two weeks ago. Snow was harder than the rocks but all in all not bad. Played mostly out in the trees and on the north side off the hills.

We rode Kings lake area for 3 days and then moved to Mill Creek sno-park which ties into the Calispell system. They need some snow but at least a 135 miles of groomed and good potential for boondocking and a few play areas, Calispell Peak with some good snow would be great, Mill Creek has some logging operations going on right now so if you find dirt turn around find another way cause it goes on for a while.

Thanks for the info. If you were gonna go back, would you go to King's Lake or Mill Creek?

Both areas seem to be pretty similar,at Kings Lake you have North Baldy and South Baldy mountains which with new snow have some decent play areas. The same goes for Mill Creek you have Dominion Mountain and Callispell Peak and probably a few more play areas along the way. Both have warming huts which are nice and great views, its a toss up probably Mill Creek I found a few more play areas and less people, there's also a store, gas, and a restaurant across the street from the sno-park(Beaver lake Resort) if you've got time try both only about an hour and a half apart.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. I'm trying to get a good idea of the best places to hit so my buddies aren't disappointed and will come back for more, I appreciate your help.
