Newbie in Central Oregon

Hi Sledders,

I have been into motorsports for a long time, but snowmobiling is fairly new to me. The moderator said to include who, what, when, where, and how...
My wife of 30+ years and I have done many things to earn a living, but the most recent is being a General Contractor. We sold our house about 1 1/2 years ago and moved to our recreational property in the high desert near the small town of Crescent to build our dream home. Of course first we had to build an insulated shop to store our furnature, my dirt bike, and snowmobiles! The shop is finished and the house is completed on the outside including paint. I can now work out of the weather to craft the interior to my wife's specifications!
We had purchased a "93" and a "95" long-track Phazer about 5 years ago, but only rode them a couple of times due to being too busy with our businesses. Our son and his buddy borrowed them a couple of years ago and "scattered" the engine on the "95" and rearranged the front end on the "93". Trying to get blood out of a turnup is a waste of time and effort, so they just sat.
Last winter I put the good engine in the good sled and set about getting a sled for my lovely wife. She is a surfer girl and researched machines online. She decided that a newer Phazer was the machine for her, so we bought a used "07". Guess what? She hated it! Sooo, I was the lucky recipient of the new machine. After flopping it over twice, I figured out that I needed to ride it like my dirt bike with lots of body english and throttle. Since then we have gotten along ok, but it sure lacks the kind of power I'm use to on my 450 KTM. Maybe after the house is done I can get a machine that is more suited to my riding style!
The greatest thing about where I live (21 miles from Willamette Pass) is that I can ride out of my shop onto hundreds of miles of trails in the Cascade Mountains. Life is good!:becky:
