Newb Q of the day.. poker rally???

Ok, so the local poker rally is coming up mid sept. It looks like a river running thing...

The have an 80mile one on sat and a 50mile on sunday..

Other than a big group of people go riding, what is a poker rally?

Also if anybody know of the River Rats in Athabasca, that's the one I'm talking about. Also.. I'm not sure which which one I should go to, or which sled to bring. 97Rmk700 has the larger paddles, some storage space, gears down; where as the 03ProX700 is newer, faster, better on fuel, but only has the stock seat trunk for storage.

Also is it a race type thing? Or do people just putt along? I need to do 30mph min to keep my glasses from fogging.

A poker run is typically a glorified drinking and driving, bar-hopping event. Every bar you stop at gives you another card for your poker hand.

The only race is who can down their beer the fastest.

Heh.. oops... I ment mid Feb... twas more tired after my ride then I thought.

Ummm Drinking eh? cept there be no bars on the river.. mind you the allowed routes through town do let you hit the back doors of all the bars in town.. but that would be a logistical nightmare having that many sleds crossing roads..
